As a PSA Hatchery Regional Director I really hope to help to create a complete catalog/list of universities in the PSA regions that have animal/poultry science programs and PSA member faculty at those universities. I plan to submit a full list of such by the end of 2020 to the hatchery and am happy to help other regions get their institutions recorded because I feel that the PSA hatchery should work to create resources for undergraduates and graduate students.

Julianna Jespersen is a third year student in the bachelor’s to PhD program in Animal Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. Her research focuses on nutritional interventions to combat coccidiosis in broiler chickens. Juli hopes to persuade more students to get involved and find their future careers in the poultry industry!

Macey Randig completed her Bachelor of Science in both Animal Science and Poultry Science from Texas A&M University in 2019. She is currently pursuing her Doctoral of Philosophy studying Poultry Science with an emphasis in intestinal health under advisor, Dr. Audrey McElroy. Her research is investigating the impact of Clostridium perfringens and Clostridium difficile with mineral interactions on Necrotic Enteritis pathogenesis.

I am Rajeev Kumar Mishra, region 5 director of PSA hatchery. I am an MS student at the Department of Human Nutrition, Food and Animal Sciences, majoring in animal sciences. My research topic is "Effect of maternal immunization against myostatin on post- hatch growth performance of their chicks" As a member of the PSA Hatchery Leadership Team this year, I would like to expand my connection with people from my field and help everyone come together as a society.

My research is on the impact of light intensity and strain on behaviour, welfare, and health of egg-strain pullets reared in perchery systems from 0 to 16 weeks of age.
